Excited!!
On Sunday night I got to feel my niece move!! We discovered that she gets restless when I play to organ... I don't know if that means she likes music or doesn't like it but whatever!! Dad got to feel her move first, then I got to feel, and then mom felt one that had Shelley's whole tummy jumping!! Michael saw that one!! So basically I am excited and cannot wait until December when we get to meet this new little one!!

Summer 2009
So what have I been doing this summer.... other then not updating my blog very well? Not very much other then studying for boards and working.... Michael and I are taking our Nursing Boards on September 25.... I'm very nervous but the fact that over half of my class has taken and passed them makes me feel much better!! So about a job.... I (and Michael) still do not have one! I have talked to many people and put in my resume at many different places and I haven't had so much as a nibble..... But I am not giving up!! I figure once I have passed boards people will be more willing to hire me (here's hoping!!).
On Monday Michael and I started back at TCC. We were lucky in the fact that all pf our classes are together.... well Michael is in all of my classes, but he has 2 other classes. We are taking Microbiology, Micro Lab, Volleyball, Outdoor Recreation management, and Meteorology. His two other classes are Anatomy and Physiology and the Lab... This week was a good first week in some ways and very bad in other ways.... well actually it's been good except for the fact that I have been VERY sick since Monday... I have had the worst cold ever!! I am just now getting my voice back.... but I probably didn't help myself by working 2:30 - Midnight on Wed. including hand mopping the ENTIRE store twice because the scrubbing machine decided to die!! Oh well... I needed the money! Well hopefully I'll have something more interesting to write about next time!! Bye for Now!

I love my Fiance!!
So today Michael left for Wisconsin for 13 days.... I was stressing for many reasons and before he left he handed me a letter. I read the letter and almost started crying! He wrote me a love letter all about how much he loves me and will miss me among other things! It was exactly what I needed and I was able to relax. He always does that!! He knows what I need when I need it... it really amazes me somethines!! But that is the type of person he is and I am so lucky to have him in my life!! Thank you Michael for all that you do! I love you!

Fishing Expedition!!
Yesterday I went fishing with Matt, Michael, and Michael's brother Steven.... It was so fun!! We got to St. Mark's at like noon and stayed until 7:30.... We didn't have very much luck at the first spot we stopped at.... all we hooked at the second place was a HUGE alligator! But then the park rangers came by and told us where the best fishing was! Yay thank you rangers! We get to the spot and hadn't been fishing long and this guy came by and gave us a HUGE redfish! It was well over the 18" min size limit and barely under the 28" max size. Then Matt caught a pretty good sized bass and we caught a bunch of bream. It was sooo fun!! Then we got back in town and I had to clean all the fish an cook them. Everything was easy until I started cleaning the Redfish.... now I see why most people filet redfish.... there was no easy scaling to be done.... I had to pry the scales off this fish! They were the size of quarters!! Cutting through the backbone while trying to make steaks posed another problem... I almost needed a saw! That was hard! We didn't get any pictures of the fish but to put it in prespective..... I cut eight 2.5" steaks... so as you can now envision it was pretty big! The head is still outside so I should get a picture of it! Anyway... more later... I'm heading out to Alabama!

The search is on!!!
So now that graduation is over, Michael and I have begun the search for a job!! Turns out all the things that are being said about the nursing shortage are VERY misleading..... what they should be saying is that there is a shortage for Registered Nurses!!! There are some spots for LPN's BUT...... they all require atleast one year of experience.... booo!!! Plus neither hospital has any positions for LPNs..... So hopefully we can find a place that will overlook the whole one year thing....... Until then we will (and have) be working our butts off at good ol' Publix! It's actually been really fun because I get to see all the customers that I've missed for the past year..... It's pretty much like a long family reunion.... with out all the crazy relatives and road kill stew! LOL! I've almost completed all of my back office training so I will finally get my green vest that I've been trying the last five years to get!! I think I will really miss Publix once I leave.... all of my coworkers have become like family and we have awesome managers right now!!
Back to my nursing life.... right now Michael and I are enrolled in an IV therapy class.... we finish next Thursday. It is a great class...... I successfully started my first (human) IV this week!! It was so fun..... and.....I was only shaking a little bit as I lowered the needle to the skin of Michael's extremely brave sister!! This size of needled go from the largest (15 Gauge) to the smallest (I think it is a 26 gauge). I used a 24 gauge on Lizz but later that night I started an IV on Michael with a 18 guage..... It is an impressive size and it totally freaked Michael out (Thank you baby for trusting me enough! You're the best!!)!!! So life is pretty good overall. Michael and I are Heading out to the middle of nowhere tomorrow (aka Caryville) for Michael's baseball game so I'm going to go to bed now!!! Until later!!

P.S. Here is a picture of Practical Nursing Class 113! All 20 of us are there..... we started with 34.... :(

Graduation is over!!
It started at 6 last night and it went really good!! Nobody tried to do anything stupid and everyone had a good time! My speech went amazingly well..... I shook like a leaf.... but I got through it!! Then afterwards Micheal, his family and I went to Sunny's to eat! It was good!! They have the new Pulled Chicken Big Deal and it is awesome!!!! Mom and Dad were going to come too but out AC is broken right now and the AC guys were at our house unsupervised!! So now we have a little break before TCC fall starts so I get to go back to the Publix job which I'm almost at 5 years so maybe I'll get the little * next to my name after all!! I just wish I made more there.... so once I get my letter from the Florida Board of nursing saying I can work as a GPN you better believe that is just what I am going to do! I can't wait to get out there and work for $ which I've worked so hard to learn!! I took a LPN Nclex predictor test yesterday and the results said I have a 95% of passing on the first attempt! So I was happy with that!! Well I'm going to go play tennis now! More later! Basically it is time to start planning our wedding!!! Oh and
Michael and I have a wedding website now. It is: http://www.ewedding.com/sites/eveloandfreddy2010 Go check it out!!

Graduation Speech!!
Let me know what you think!!
Reflection Speech By: Lindley Evelo
On the very 1st day of class, our instructors told us to go home, hug and kiss our families goodbye, and tell them we’d see them in a year. I think I can speak for all of us in saying that we had no idea how true that would be.
This has been a year of hardships and success. We have all gone through different trials both in our personal and academic lives. We have pulled together and helped out when one was in need. We grew close together through the highs and the lows. We grieved at the loss of a classmate’s family member, and we celebrated another classmate’s good news following a family member’s battle with cancer. We truly have become like a big family…. Of course the arguing between siblings is included in that statement. We’ll never forget the family councils where Mrs. Parker had to come straighten us out! But in the end we have had to lean on each other for support and we got through this together.
I stand before you today to reflect upon our year.
The most interesting thing that has happened this year is when Michael, our Token Male decided to pass out while on wound care with Mr. Enfinger. I know that memory will be forever burned into Lyris’s mind.
We all came into this year shooting for an A on every test….But…. our mind set quickly changed into “if I can only get a 75% I’ll be ok.” That continued up to the very last test.
We will always remember our instructors and faculty; Mrs. Nichols for her encouragement, birthday cookies, firsthand knowledge on the thyroid, and for the “Now this is important” statements; Ms. Cathy Williams for always expecting our very best; Ms. Howard for always saying “I’m not going to wish you luck because you don’t need it” before each and every test; Mrs. U. Williams for her infamous looks and for making us pull out of our minds the information she knew we knew…. Also for letting us in on her sweet tea secret; Ms. Freeberg for her love of Diet Sunkist, her jokes, and her awesome art work. And don’t worry Ms. Freeberg…. We all know what anasarca is and we will never forget about ketoacidosis; Mrs. Roberts for putting up with us ringing the bell all the time and for always being available to answer all the questions we have; Mrs. Battles for her original discipline techniques; Deloris for keeping our building clean; Mrs. Parker for making us throw our attitudes in the trash; And finally Mrs. Horton for her cookies, handouts, the extra time she would spend after class making sure we understood cardiac, as well as the shakedowns before each test so that she wouldn’t have to throw another cell phone out the door.
We all enjoyed clinicals and all skills we learned…. And we enjoyed learning to feed and bathe patients by getting to practice on each other. We all got the opportunity to go to the Cath. Lab while we were on Cardiac, and several of us even got to watch surgeries. While Lauren was told she looked 13, Cindy repeatedly got mistaken for an instructor.
Our leadership rotation was the favorite for most of us. It was really neat because everything we had struggled to learn, all the late nights, and all of the last minute cramming finally came together and we were able to use the knowledge we had worked so hard to gain.
Now we are all parting and will be taking many different routes. Some of us will work as hands on nurses and some of us will be continuing our education. The good thing about both routes is that we will all be striving to make a difference. We will take the knowledge and skill we have acquired throughout this journey and use it to supplement the nursing field and provide better care to our patients.
Congratulations Practical Nursing Class 113! WE DID IT!!!!!

School + life update
WE officially graduate in 57 days!!! YAY!! We have our last cardiac test tomorrow morning, then 1 more sensory exam. We started Pediatrics today.... so all that is left is the rest of Peds and Maternal infant.... I'm glad they are at the end... they are my favorite subjects!!! I just can't wait to be out!!!
Last Weekend, Michael's family and I were in Destin.... now before you get excited for me.... we were not at the beach.... we were at a soccer tourny. I had been sick all last week and had only reffed 2 games so I opted out of being a referee. I instead watched Michael ref! It was actually quite fun to be able to sit, relax, feel the breeze on my face, and BAKE!!! That's right... I baked in the sun!!!! I figured I'd be ok since I was applying SPF 50 sunblock every hour.... well not so much! I got so burnt that I totally swelled up! I had 3+ pitting edema in my legs from the knees down! (for all you non -medical people... google pitting edema ;D). Clinicals were absolutely horrible b/c of the burn... I learned that scrubs are not kind to sunburns... That plus all the drama going on in my clinical group (I'm not going into it here.... but I was ready to blow up at people) I did not have a good 2 days. I ended up getting ill Tuesday night and all Wed. so I was not at the hospital Wed. I figured since right now I am on the Cancer unit with so many immunosuppressed people, I didn't need to introduce more germs into the environment. So I stayed home and put my feet up..... literally! I had to elevate my legs above the level of my heart to promote drainage.... but I had a pretty good day and was able to relax so now I'm starting to feel better.
Michael and I are doing great! It is 310 days until we get married!! I CANNOT wait!! I figure we will start really planning once we graduate. We have almost certainly decided that we are not moving to Chipola next year... Yes it would be easier for school, but if we live on the west side of town the school is only about a 40 minute drive...... I want to stay in town now that I will have a niece or nephew to spoil!!!
Well more later!! I have to go spend all night reading about anemia and chest tubes!

North Carolina
So tomorrow morning I am driving to North Carolina.... Michael's Grandma passed away so we are going up there for a few days and the funeral.... from what I hear she was a great lady. So keep Michael's family in your prayers.... especially his Grandpa.......
Spring Break starts for me tomorrow and I can honestly say the break is WAY overdue for my body.... I am getting so worn down it isn't even funny!! But it is coming soon YAY for Spring Break!
Michael and I offically set a wedding date!!! It will be March 6, 2010!! We have given up our dream of having it at Shiloh Farms because of lack of $$$ so we are looking for cheap solutions...... I'm thinking that my house is sounding great right about now but I really don't want an outside wedding... too many risks! Any Ideas?

I need to find more time...
In a day!!! Since my root canal was done it seems like I have had no time left for anything extra!! I started taking a Soccer Referee class and that was taking up alot of my time.... Clinicals have gotten more complicated and school has gotten more intense!!!
Well I passed the referee class.... so I am an offcial Florida State Referee!!! YAY!! I;m getting used to clinicals again, and I have been studying more for school!
Michael and I have been working out together.... Our favorite thing to do is go play raquetball!! I have gotten so much better and now I beat him more than he beats me!! I am also losing weight!! YAY!!!! I have figured out exactely how much I need to lose a week to get to my desired weight by next March and I have been meeting that number and more!!! YAY!! So by March 13, 2010 I should be looking GREAT walking down the isle!!!
Poor Michael had to go to jury duty yesterday and he got selected!! He tried to get out of it by saying he was in nursing school, but it didn't work... I told him he should have asked them if they were going to pay for the hours he is missing (because at Lively we have to repay for all hours missed..... and we have tomake them up ) but he didn't mention it..... So everybody needs to pray that the trial he is a jurer on will be cancelled.
Root Canal
So I had my root canal today.... it was not a bad experince over all! But I am numb all the way above my eye. He had to give me like 8 shots or something like that.... but I didn't even feel them! So I thank mom and dad for paying for this, and especially mom because she took me there, got me breakfast, and then drove me to school. I recommend Dr. Kotz!

My GREAT(ly crappy) Weekend!
Well it all started on Thursday Afternoon..... I started to get a slight pain in my tooth.... well I took a couple of Ibuprofin and that cleared it right up.... Right? WRONG!!!
By Friday afternoon the entire right side (upper and lower) of my jaw was in serious pain.... so I took more Ibuprofin and told mom about it.... she said it was probably sinus related and to put heat on in.... well that helped a ton!! The pain would actually go away!! Well of course it came back but hey.... I'm not picky!!
After school me and Michael were supposed to go to Destin with the soccer team for them to play Rocky Bayau... I was sooo excited!! Well the bus didn't make it past the greensboro/sneads exit on I-10. So we went and got a vanload of boys to take back to JPII! That was an interesting ride.... 6 boys to 5 seats..... lots of singing.... whoever knew the Soccer team had so much talent........ YEAH right!!! The singing was downright scary.... but very amusing!!! Then we went to the Blime's house where I promptly stole Miles from Marquesas and was completely content! We had a great time at their house.... it was for Shelley's Birthday party.....
Well... I made the mistake at like 10:30 of taking a bite on the WRONG side of my mouth.... I was in serious SEVERE PAIN!!!! It was horrible!!! Well Marquesas helped me make a heat compress which helped a ton and we went back to having fun! Until we got home.... I didn't sleep at all because of the pain.
Saturday was spent all day in pain.... Dad called my dentist. Turns out he was in Tampa.... but since Dr. Hardison is the ABSOLUTE BEST as far as dentist go..... he called me in a prescription of amoxicillian and Tylenol #3. Well I started the Amox. right away and the tylenol! The tylenol was great!!! For one dose!!! and one dose only!!! Then the Codiene started getting me SICK and that is the way I stayed!! I started vomiting Sunday night....... Pain.... more pain....... more sickness..... then comes Monday.
I went to the dentist..... got a prescription of Demerol...... Went to the Endodontalist.... have to get a root canal next week... more pain..... found out Demerol makes me extremly light headed.... still in pain but it's getting better now!! Yay!! I stopped taking the demerol yesterday morning a 6am and am managing my pain with NSAIDS!!! I went back to school today for the first time.... clinicals went good.... so now I just have to try not to OD on Ibuprofin before next Thursday.... that's the ROOT CANAL DAY(RCD).
Wish me luck!

New Hair!! Oh and announcments!
So Shelley Colored and Cut my hair on Monday!! At first I was completely freaked out because she promised that she wouldn't touch my bangs.... well she did!! But I have forgiven her because it really does look good!!
This morning our pipes froze! I was just waking up when dad came into my room (this was at like 5:30) and told me there was no water!! I was not too happy! Dad tried to go out and tap on the pipes to see if that would work and it sadly did not. So then he came up with the brilliant idea to used a hanging lamp that gets really hot to melt the ice... well the water came back on as soon as I had finished my VERY COLD sponge bath :( Figures! But I guess the sponge bath helps me to sympathize with my patients!!
Michael and I have picked out colors and a probable location for the wedding.... and a probable general date!!
The colors are going to be GREEN and BROWN. Here are the Actual Colors: It is the green and brown of course!
The location is going to be SHILOH FARMS off of Benjamin Chaires Road. (http://www.shilohfarm.info/index.html)
The Wedding would be in the chapel and the reception would be in the barn! We both love it and have driven by it twice just to look at it!!
We are thinking that the wedding will be in March of 2010.... probably at the beginning of spring break!!!! I can't wait!!!
Let me know what you think!!

New post.....
So I have had no time to blog since school started back!! I have been BUSY!!! Me and Michael have been searching through colors to try to pick out colors for the wedding, but nothing else is really been going on!
Lets see if I can come up with anything....
One of my favorite classmates had to withdraw from school because she got put on bedrest.... ;(
I asked Marquesas to be one of my bridesmaid... she said yes :)
Volleyball started.... and Michael is GREAT at it!! He said he couldn't play so we were plesantly surprised!!
Miles is still the ABSOLUTE CUTEST baby I have ever laid eyes on!
Michael's soccer team almost beat Maclay!!! They were winning for 75 out of 80 minutes!! The only reason Maclay ended up scoring was on a crappy call by a referee would didn't know anything.... but the fact that we almost won is huge b/c they've never done that before!!!!
I think that's about it!!
