One Year Later (only 14 days late) *Prepare for a post filled with pics*

Can someone please tell me how all of this was a whole year ago?? ( Part One Part 2 Part 3) I still miss having my little ladybug inside me. I swear I still feel phantom kicks at times. It's been a long fun and stressed filled year. All the trouble with Makenna's weight and breastfeeding about did me in (Read about it here), but we pushed through! Makenna has changed A TON throughout this year! I can't believe I have a one year old! She is the best thing that ever happened to me! Enjoy the following pics! They are the best of the best!

A quick happy update

I forgot to mention the test results in the last post. After studying like crazy, we took our first test and.... I got a 90%!!!! I'm super excited with this grade!

TURD (Tallahasse Upper Respiratory Disease) aka THE SICKNESS

I was so proud of myself for avoiding all the respiratory crap going around town... then I made the mistake of being outside while Michael was mowing the grass... I have 2 allergies. 1: Wasps 2: Freshly cut grass. Yeah... I'm a genious. My thought process was "Oh, our lawnmower doesn't blow the grass out to either side, so I should be ok to stay in the pool with Makenna while he mows." Yeah... no. Thursday I woke up with a sore throat and by that evening I was a snot/mucus factory. Yuck. I still thought it was all due to the grass. Well I guess the inlammatory process getting activated by the allergie lowered my immune response and WHAM Friday I woke up to a full blown URI. I muddled through the day and called my doctor that afternoon to ask them to call in some antibiotics for me. I got shot down super quickly on that one. "I'm sorry Mrs. Fredrickson, but you'll have to come in and be seen." Now just when exactly would they propose I do that? The only time I'm not in work or school, they aren't open!! I was in the process of figuring out a solution to the problem when I went in for my weigh in. My awesome doctor there heard me coughing  hacking and gave me a script for a Z-Pak!!! He is awesome and saved my life! I still suffered all weekend, especially yesterday, but I woke up from my good nights sleep nap (Makenna has a molar coming in and last night was hell on earth complete with a whopping 2.5 hours of sleep) feeling like a whole new person. Now I just need to get some sleep tonight and I'll be good to go!

We start Clinicals this week. I am super nervous about this because I am so used to functioning at a nurse level... now I have to pedal it back to "student nurse has to have everything checked off by teacher first" and "you can't give a single medication without your instructor in the room with you" level. The other stress causer: Care Plans. I'm not that worried about it because it's not that complex, but depending on the patient you are assigned, they can get pretty intense. Wish me luck!
